E-Cell - Therapy Smart Cards
Vascular Card
Used to assist with the relief of local, acute and long standing soft tissue pain.
This card should also be used as preliminary treatment for all chronic conditions followed by the relevant area Therapy Smart Card. Blood flow or vascular supply is necessary for health and well being as it delivers nutrients to all cells in the body and carries away waste. In many old or long standing injuries the vascular supply may become compromised leading to delayed or non healing.
The Vascular card is used to encourage the formation of new blood vessels and to assist in the re-establishment of the body’s natural repair processes.
Osteoarthritis Card
Used to assist with the relief of acute and chronic osteo-arthritic pain in any region of the body.
Osteoarthritis is a degenerative condition involving the loss of mobility through degeneration of the articular surfaces in a range of joints. The reduction of inflammation has both a corresponding reduction in pain as well as a reduction in the rate of joint integrity. Rates of success will largely be dictated by the severity or progression of cartilage loss. Early stage osteoarthritis can respond both rapidly and effectively however dramatic changes in very late stage conditions can be more difficult.Bone Card
Used to assist with the rate of repair of broken or osteoporotic bone and any associated pain.
Bone and other connective tissues are in a contact state of modeling and remodeling. The formation of new bone and removing old bone is an ongoing process which can be heavily influenced by hard physical activity. The e-cell bone card emits cellular exercise “language” that can switch the balance of bone gain and bone loss in favour of new bone formation. Ankle Card
Used to assist with the relief of ankle and foot related pain.
The foot is considered the "foundation of the body". Proper gait (walking) is essential not only for the strength and integrity of the foot and ankle but most importantly for the entire spine itself. Ankle injuries can occur as a result of falls, twists, overuse and degeneration. Foot and ankle problems such as a fallen arch may cause many problems from the foot all the way to the head and neck areas. These can include but are not limited to bunions in the foot, knee pain, hip pain, low back pain and neck pain.
Elbow Card
Used to assist with the relief of elbow pain.
Tennis and golfers elbow are the most common overuse injuries in the elbow. These are injuries to the soft protuberances on either side of the joint and our inability to rest such injuries often results in mild to severe pain for up to three years. Elbow pain may also result from wrist injuries where the median nerve is impinged (as in carpal tunnel syndrome) except it is impinged closer to the upper forearm close to the elbow. Hip Card
Used to assist with the relief of hip related pain.
Hip pain is often associated with dysfunction or degeneration in the pelvis but can also be in response to muscle imbalance or impingement. The hip is a ball and socket joint. The hip socket is made up by the pelvic bone while the hip joint itself is the leg bone called the femur. They are both connected by several muscles and ligaments which can become inflamed or overused. Knee Card
Used to assist with the relief of knee and lower leg pain.
The knee functions mostly like the hinge of a door. It flexes and extends as you walk, sit and stand. The knee turns or rotates too. This aspect of motion can put the knee in a precarious position at times as may be seen with sports persons who rapidly change directions during play while their foot is firmly planted in position. Knee pain can also occur due to changes in the level of physical activity or the adoption of new and strenuous exercise. These can all put the knee in a vulnerable state that may cause injury to the many ligaments, tendons or articilar surfaces of the knee.
Low Back Card
Used to assist with the relief of short and long term low back pain.
Lower back pain is one of the most common complaints. Lower back conditions can be classified as acute (new or recent) or chronic (long standing or re-occurring). An example is the "facet syndrome" where the facets or spinal joints get twisted much like a wet cloth appears when ringing it out. These injuries occur from tasks such as shoveling soil, raking leaves or lifting and moving boxes. It’s due to a twisting motion. Chronic low back conditions usually occur from years if not decades of wear and tear that goes untreated due to vocational, sporting or recreational environments that place high demands on the body.
Mid Back Card
Used to assist with the relief of mid back pain.
Back pain is a very common problem and according to one researcher, almost 7 percent of the adult population is suffering from an episode of back pain lasting more than two weeks. Mid back pain may result from many causes. If there is no direct trauma or injury this type of symptom is usually caused by a spinal condition above or below the area in question. For example, if a person receives a blunt force to the mid back region the cause is obvious. In many cases however, the reason for pain is not identifiable.
Neck Card
Used to assist with the relief of neck related pain.
Neck pain is most commonly the result of abnormal postures or extended periods in unsuitable types of postures. Examples include office work using computers or sleeping with too many or too few pillows. Shoulder Card
Used to assist with the relief of rotator cuff and general shoulder pain.
The shoulder is a complex joint. The majority of shoulder problems will present themselves as pain over the deltoid muscle or side of the arm. Occasionally the problem will elicit pain over the same side of the neck as the shoulder in question. Rotator cuff syndromes, or pain when lifting or elevating the shoulder, are also common as is musculo/tendinis pain following heavy exercise. Wrist Card
Used to assist with the relief of wrist pain and joint inflammatory conditions.
Wrist pain is most commonly associated with carpal tunnel and intersection syndromes. As noted above most pain in the wrist may be associated with a mechanical problem further up towards the elbow. When carpal tunnel or intersection syndromes occur they can yield symptoms of pain over the wrist and tingling or numbness in the thumb and index finger. When this condition becomes chronic, weakness and possible muscle atrophy (muscle wasting) of the thumb will occur. This condition is commonly seen in persons who hold their wrists in extension or back towards the forearm. This is common, for example, in gymnasts who often put their wrists in this position doing hand stands and other gymnastic type maneuvers. Most of the clinical categories which have been outlined above are common injuries which occur not just with the sporting community but with both the younger and the aging community as well.
